Alex Collins, a former American football player, has been identified as being killed as a result of a motorbike accident that occurred in Florida on August 13 at around 10:20 p.m.
According to the Traffic Homicide Unit of the Broward County Sheriff's Office, Collins was operating a 2004 Suzuki GSX-600K in Lauderdale Lakes when the collision took place.
Broward County stated that although the investigation is still underway, the information they have so far shows that Collins was struck by the back passenger side of the SUV when a woman driving a Chevrolet Suburban made a turn and crossed over the lane he was in.
Emergency personnel arrived quickly, but Alex was already dead when they arrived. The woman stayed at the site and is helping investigators who are currently looking into the collision.
Running back Alex Collins spent five seasons in the National Football League. The Ravens, where he spent his two most successful NFL seasons in 2017 and 2018, are honoring him "for the light and love he brought to so many people in his life."
Alex, who passed away at the age of 28, also played for the Seahawks twice. He debuted with Seattle in 2016 and later played for the team again in the 2020 and 2021 NFL seasons.
In 50 NFL games, Alex amassed 1,997 running yards, 467 receiving yards, and 19 touchdowns in all.
Prior to signing this year with the Memphis Showboats of the United States Football League, Alex had completely retired from professional football in 2022. He ended the season on injured reserve.
