For the forward Chuba Akpom, who was born in Nigeria, Ajax and Middlesbrough have reached an agreement.
Former Arsenal academy standout Akpom was expected to sign with French club RC Lens, but the Ligue 1 team withdrew from the deal despite already having a deal with Middlesbrough.
The Athletic claims that Ajax and Middlesboro have since struck an agreement over the player's transfer.
Ajax will pay Boro a €12 million fee plus €2 million in extras.
The 27-year-old is now authorized to travel to the Netherlands and get a checkup on Monday (today), after which he will sign a five-year contract.
With 28 goals, Akpom led all scorers in the Sky Bet Championship the previous year.
