Ben Murray-Bruce, a former legislator, has advised the federal government and the incoming minister of health to start a free condom distribution project amid severe economic challenges.
The proposal, according to Murray-Bruce, is made in view of Nigerians' escalating economic difficulties, which have severely hurt the middle class and increased poverty rates.
The former congressman stated on his social media account on Monday that he thought ensuring access to contraception was an important step in preventing a potential population explosion.
He stated, "It is necessary for the next Minister of Health or the federal government to initiate a free condom distribution project immediately, given the worsening economic issues that Nigeria faces, which have severely affected the middle class and aggravated poverty levels.
