Ministers, Tinubu warns, "I'll hold you responsible for the standards promised to Nigerians."

The newly sworn-in ministers will be held to the standards that the Nigerian people were promised, according to President Bola Tinubu.

During his speech to the ministers at the Conference Center of the State House in Abuja, Tinubu made this point clear.

I realize you and I delegate this authority, he said, but the majority of Nigerians have very high expectations for performance, accountability, and openness. Nigerians anticipate that you will conduct yourself honorably and effectively. I'll hold you to the commitment we all made to Nigerians.

It all comes down to having a strong team, and I think we do. Being selected to serve as a minister in the Federal Executive Council of our beloved republic is an honor, but it also carries with it great responsibility.

"All of you who have been sworn in have been called to distinguish yourselves at this period of abundant promise and peril in equal measure.

"Your task starts right away. As your nation honors you today by issuing this call to service, each of you must put out effort to establish your own deserving standing in the eyes of God and the people of our country.

Earlier, 45 ministers were sworn in to his cabinet, which included Festus Keyamo as minister of aviation and Nyesom Wike as minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Wale Edun, who oversees finances and the economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, who oversees transportation, David Umahi, who oversees construction, Festus Keyamo, who oversees aviation and aerospace development, and Betta Edu, who oversees humanitarian aid and poverty alleviation, are some of the additional ministers.
