Adewale Bamigbade, a leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, has criticized the state's administration for allegedly hoarding FG medications intended for the state's citizens.
Bamigbade claimed that the government, which is headed by Governor Ademola Adeleke, deliberately inflicts suffering on her citizens.
His exact remarks were, "It is really regrettable that the Osun State government refuses to distribute the Federal government's palliative despite cries from all sides.
"The Osun government's inaction has supported our party's claim that the current administration is not sympathetic to the plight of the but only interested in playing politics with the lives of those who elected them into office," the statement from our party reads.
2,400 bags of rice were delivered to the state as a palliative more than three weeks ago, but the government has refused to give it to the citizens. Additionally, the government received N17 billion in July allocation along with an additional N3 billion as a palliative, but they won't reveal it to the citizens while still claiming to be an open administration.
"While other states have completed their distribution, Osun is providing justifications here and there. This is wickedness intended to harm the locals through political games.
In response, the State Government released a statement through the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, in which he stated that the state was waiting for the second batch of the food item before distributing it and that it was developing a template to ensure that every sector of the state benefited.
Before starting the distribution, the government wants to make sure that everything has been delivered. We reassure the public that the distribution of food to the population will be transparent and accountable, according to the statement.
