Two people who are suspected of working with terrorists to kidnap their buddy have been captured by the Katsina State Police Command.
Based on reliable information, the two suspects, Mohammed Bello, also known as Dan Ali, from Sabon Gari in Ikara L.G.A., Kaduna State, and Abubakar Mohammed from Kumbotso L.G.A., Kano State, were apprehended.
The two tricked their companion, identified as "Salmanu," into going to a place that was between Funtua and Zamfara state, according to the police spokesperson in Katsina, ASP Sadiq Abubakar. The two then invited a man named "Gora," a reputedly known bandit leader thought to be active in the region, who eventually took him away.
In the wake of the inquiry, both suspects have admitted to the crime.
In addition, the police in Katsina said that Sadiq Abdullahi, 22, of the Rafin-dadi Quarters in the state capital of Katsina, had been apprehended with a stolen Jin Cheng motorcycle.
ASP Sadiq claims that the suspect was detained by the state command's Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU) while on a regular patrol along the Katsina-Jibia Road. He admitted, after being questioned, that he had stolen the motorcycle from Ahmad Lawal Babaye of Katsina's Gafai Quarters.
As the recipient of the stolen commodities, the suspect named Surajo Sani of Magamar, Jibia LGA, Katsina. He also identified Hamisu Mamman and Sani Abba, also known as "Uban shegu" from Katsina's Kofar-Yandaka Quarters. According to ASP Sadiq, the investigation is still ongoing.
