Two priests working at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Gyedna, Garam Ward in Niger State's Tafa Local Government Area have been kidnapped by gunmen who are thought to be bandits.
Fr. Paul Sanogo and Seminarian Melchior, two priests who have been recognized, were purportedly kidnapped in the early hours of August 3rd.
According to eyewitness accounts given to Daily Trust, the kidnappers fired shots into the air for more than an hour before snatching the two priests away.
The Catholic Bishop of Minna, Most Rev Dr Martin Igwe Uzoukwu, has verified their kidnapping.
