Reps call Naira Marley to discuss Mohbad's royalties and musical rights.
The House of Representatives summoned controversial artist Azeez Fashola, Naira Marley, on Thursday in an effort to secure the musical rights to the compositions of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

The House Committee on Justice, Youth, and Legislative Compliance also invited Mohbad's manager, Jiggy Adeoye, to testify on October 31.

Mohbad, a former signee of Naira Marley's record company, died on September 12, 2023, in an unexplained manner. The Lagos State Government ordered a coroner's investigation into the singer's death, who was 27 years old.

Congressman Babajimi Benson, who represents the Ikorodu Federal Constituency in Lagos State, presented a motion that resulted in the House resolution being passed on Thursday.

Benson emphasized that in order to protect artists' copyrights and royalties, the laws governing the entertainment sector need to be reviewed.
