SAN criticizes the unbalanced selection of Supreme Court justices.
Mike Ozekhome (SAN), a prominent attorney, has expressed concerns on the unbalanced makeup of the Supreme Court's justices.

He specifically brought up the recent appeal against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the presidential election involving Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi.

Ozekhome claims that 21 jurists are allowed by Nigeria's constitution to guarantee equitable representation. He noted that there are only ten justices at the moment, and the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) does not hold a full administrative officer position.

Ozekhome urged for a more thorough examination of the Supreme Court's decision in the case since it had important policy ramifications and questioned the court's capacity to carry out its duties with such a small membership.

He also criticized the 2022 Electoral Act's disdain for technological innovations, which he said were compromised by the court's ruling.

A human rights attorney named P. D. Pius complimented the honesty and uprightness of the Supreme Court judges in response to retired Justice Musa Dattijo Mohammad's remarks accusing the CJN of abusing its powers, particularly in light of the temptations affluent individuals present to them.

What a morally pure group of men! Given the justices' salaries and other incentives, the majority of Nigerians would have easily converted the Supreme Court into a cash-and-carry market if given the chance, he said.
