Six terrorists are killed after army personnel in Borno stop an ISWAP ambush.

Six Islamic State of the West African Province (ISWAP) terrorists were reportedly killed and several others were hurt in a botched ambush at Binduldul General area along MSR Maiduguri - Gubio - Kareto - Damasak Road by the forces of 5 Brigade Operation HADIN KAI stationed at Damasak.

On Friday, October 20, 2023, it was revealed that the soldiers accomplished the accomplishment after preventing a terrorist ambush that had been planned against them while on a combat patrol.

Zagazola Makama, a security analyst and counterinsurgency expert in the Lake Chad region, was informed by intelligence sources that the army engaged in gunfire with terrorists and cleared the ambush, causing the insurgents to flee into the jungle.

According to the sources, the military gave chase to the terrorists as they fled into the jungle. During the battle, six ISWAP were neutralized and an undetermined number of terrorists were injured.

During the engagement, two PKT weapons, five AK-47 rifles, and a Hummer bus used by the terrorists were found along with three soldiers who were injured in fighting.

The bus was subsequently destroyed.
