Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo, has addressed challenges related to the supply and pricing of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in the domestic market.
The intervention comes in response to a recent surge in the price per kilogram from about N700 to over N900 in some parts of the country.
The main obstacles include difficulties in obtaining foreign exchange for imports and insufficient supply to the domestic market.
Ekpo, expressing President Bola Tinubu's concerns, criticized multinational firms for prioritizing gas exports over allocating significant volumes for the domestic market.
He emphasized the need for government intervention, forming a committee to provide recommendations within a week on enhancing supplies and reducing pricing.
