IGP Egbetokun, Police lament the burial of former spokesman Odita
On behalf of the whole Nigeria Police Force, Inspector General of Police IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun paid respects to former spokesman CP Frank Odita, who was laid to rest on Friday.


After a brief illness, Odita, a former Force Public Relations Officer who held the esteemed position from 1990 to 1992, passed away in June 2023 at the advanced age of 84.


One of the pillars of the Nigerian police establishment was the late Odita. He also had a lasting impression on the police department's public relations division.


ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the police spokesperson, signed a statement stating that Egbetokun and the entire force were saddened by the passing of a devoted and respected retired comrade.


Adejobi stated, "IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun observed that CP Odita had left an enduring impression on the memories of everyone who knew him and in the NPF's history.


Odita gained the respect and admiration of his peers, the media, and the general public for his dedication and outstanding performance while serving as the Force PRO.


He was essential in improving the Nigeria Police Force's reputation and cultivating improved ties with the public and media.


According to Adejobi, "The Inspector General of Police emphasized that his contributions to the Force will be remembered and cherished, and his passing is a great loss to the NPF family."


He said that the IGP offers the Police's sincere sympathies to Odita's family and loved ones and prays for his soul to rest as he is laid to rest today, November 3, 2023, in his hometown of Ibusa, Delta State.


Egbetokun reaffirmed that his memory will continue to inspire us as the Police strive for excellence in their jobs and that he will be remembered with respect and gratitude.
