INEC problems Uzodinma Return Certificate
In Owerri, the state capital, Governor Hope Uzodimma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has received his certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

In the November 11 state election, Uzodimma received 540,308 votes, more than his nearest competitors, Nneji Achonu of the Labour Party (LP) and Samuel Anyanwu of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), who each received 64,081 votes and 71,503 votes, respectively.

After more than eight hours of compiling the local government area (LGA) results, Uzodimma was proclaimed the victor of the state governorship election on Sunday morning at around 10 a.m. by Prof. Abayomi Fashina, the vice chancellor of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti, and the state returning officer.

All 27 local government areas (LGAs) in the state were won by the APC candidate.

Uzodimma praised INEC for holding "the freest, fairest, and most peaceful election in the history of Imo State" in his acceptance speech.
