The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafi’u Abubakar, confirmed the incident, stating that the accident involved a Police Toyota Land Cruiser conveying a team of officers.
The vehicle, led by ACP Suleiman Sade, was en route to investigate a crime scene in Kendawa village.
The accident occurred when one of the rear tires burst near the NNPC area in Koko, causing the vehicle to somersault three times into the nearby bush.
Inspector Sa’idu Idiya of the SCID succumbed to injuries and was confirmed dead at General Hospital Koko.
The remaining victims were evacuated for further treatment at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Birnin Kebbi.
The PPRO expressed condolences and prayed for the peaceful repose of Inspector Sa’idu Idiya's soul. The deceased was subsequently laid to rest following Islamic rites.
