Lagos landlord found guilty of sexually abusing tenant's children and given a double life sentence
The Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court in Lagos has handed down a sentence of double life imprisonment to 65-year-old landlord Igwe Ambrose for sexually assaulting his tenant's children.

Ambrose faced charges related to sexual assault by penetration and indecent treatment of two victims, aged 7 and 11.

The assaults occurred between January and June 2021 at Shagari Estate, Ipaja. Judge Abiola Soladoye declared Ambrose guilty, stating that the prosecution proved its case beyond a reasonable doubt.

The judge described Ambrose as a "dirty old man" and sentenced him to double life imprisonment for the severe charges, along with additional years for other counts.

Ambrose's name will be entered into the sexual offences register maintained by the Lagos state government.
