Nov. 15, offshore oil incident results in loss of 3,000 barrels of crude oil, according to NOSDRA
Approximately 3,000 barrels of crude oil were lost in the oil spill that occurred on November 15 from TotalEnergies' Egina Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel.

The FPSO, situated 130 kilometers off the Atlantic coastline from Port Harcourt, has the capacity to produce 200,000 barrels of crude daily and can store 2.3 million barrels onboard.

The National Oil Spills Detection and Response Agency (NOSDRA) reported that the clean-up is still in progress, and measures were taken to prevent the spilled crude from reaching the coastline.

The spill response involved deploying personnel, activating the National Oil Spills Contingency Plan, and collaborating with other oil companies for an effective and swift response, including the use of aircraft and vessels to apply cleaning agents to the waters.
