The incident in question occurred on Aug. 14 when unidentified gunmen attacked BECO Comprehensive Secondary School in Kwi, killing a recently married couple, Rwang Danladi, 37, and his wife, Sandra, 28, both teachers at the school.
Takwa stated that the arrested suspect, Lukman Aminu, who had been on the wanted list for various criminal offenses, confessed to committing the crime. The military is actively pursuing the remaining attackers.
Takwa reported that eleven other suspects were arrested for offenses such as murder and illegal weapon manufacturing in the state.
The successes of the taskforce align with the directive from the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) and the support of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) to ensure that criminals, regardless of their status, face justice. The Commander of the taskforce, Maj.-Gen. Abdusalam Abubakar, received commendation for his commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of Plateau residents.
The recovered items from the suspects include ammunition, firearms, a generator, fabricating materials, military kits, mobile phones, and cash.
