Seven people were hurt and two immigration officers died in a collision.
Following a horrific traffic accident in Kano, no less than two Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) officials were confirmed dead and seven were gravely injured.

Sunday night's deadly tragedy at Kura town along the Kano/Zaria highway involved an 18-passenger Nissan bus that was an official immigration vehicle.

The spokesperson for Federal Road Safety, Kano State Command, Abdullahi Labaran, confirmed the unsettling situation via phone with The Guardian. He said that the unexpected burst of a tire caused an incident involving nine servicemen.

However, in contrast to the number provided by the FRSC, a source within the service who did not want his identity to be published disclosed that four officers died in the accident and numerous more were injured.

According to the source, the tragic tragedy happened on Saturday in Kano while the victims and other officers were traveling in a lengthy convoy to Abuja following a passing-out parade ceremony.

According to information obtained by The Guardian, the bodies of the deceased and the seriously injured have been transported to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital.

Several attempts to reach the spokesperson for the NIS were unsuccessful in obtaining an official response.
