Edo Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, emphasized the need for practical governance in Edo State as the 2024 Governorship Election approaches.
He expressed concern about experimenting with someone unfamiliar with the state's politics and people's needs.
Shaibu stressed the importance of competence and experience in the upcoming election, advocating for a governor who can hit the ground running from day one.
He highlighted the necessity of collaboration between the state and the Federal Government for successful governance.
Addressing the issue of rotational governorship, Shaibu stated that while there hasn't been any convention regarding zoning, he emphasized fairness and equity, particularly for Edo North, which has had only one turn in the governorship position.
