The head of the EFCC assigns CSOs to grassroots anti-graft campaigns
The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has urged Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) nationwide to actively participate in robust anti-corruption campaigns at the grassroots level.

The statement, conveyed by EFCC Spokesperson Dele Oyewale, revealed that Olukoyede made this appeal during an interaction between the EFCC and CSOs in Akwa-Ibom, Abia, and Cross River.

Emphasizing that the fight against corruption requires the involvement of every stakeholder, including grassroots communities, Olukoyede urged CSOs not to rely solely on the EFCC but to contribute by enlightening the public, especially at the grassroots. He stressed the need for collective effort and sacrifice to ensure the effectiveness of the anti-corruption campaign.

Represented by the Uyo Zonal Commander, Mr. Bawa Saidu, Olukoyede called on participants, being closer to the grassroots, to disseminate the anti-corruption message.

Additionally, he encouraged CSOs to provide the EFCC with pertinent intelligence to expose corrupt practices, highlighting that the success of the EFCC is a success for all Nigerians.

Addressing the expected roles of CSOs, ASE II Aisha Mohammed emphasized the importance of their involvement in enhancing the preventive mandate of the EFCC, seeking their collaboration as the Commission aims to improve its strategies in the fight against corruption.
