A'Ibom honors Dakat, the newly promoted state immigration chiefFrancisca Dakat, the state comptroller of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), was honored by the Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Information on both her birthday and her promotion.


The two-day ceremony took place in the Comptroller's Flag House residence, located on Ben Udo Street in the Ewet Housing Estate in Uyo.


The state government and the ministry were able to establish a cooperative working relationship with the state Command of the Nigerian Immigration Service because of Dakat's exceptional qualities, which Commissioner for Information Ini Ememobong described as friendly and humane.


The commissioner wished the comptroller the best in her new position and rank on behalf of the Ministry and the government of Akwa Ibom State, noting that the comptroller's hard work and dedication were demonstrated by her promotion and subsequent posting to a higher responsibility.


After referring to her as a "Uduakabasi" and adopting her as a daughter of the land, he pleaded with her to continue serving as an excellent representative of Akwa Ibom State.


Ememobong wished Dakat a very happy birthday and congrats on her well-deserved elevation to Assistant Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service. She also prayed that Dakat would advance to become the best in her field.


In her reply, Dakat thanked God for her birthday and her advancement within NIS. She also thanked the commissioner and his ministry for being a part of her double barrel celebration.


The birthday card and gift presentation by Ememobong was the highlight of the ceremony, which included goodwill words from Akparawa James Edet, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information, as well as service heads and Heads of Departments of the State Command of NIS.
