The violence that broke out in Guinea-Bissau during the early hours of Friday was denounced by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) on Saturday.
The ECOWAS Parliament in Abuja released a statement that included the denunciation.
It said that the violence that broke out in Guinea-Bissau in the wee hours of Friday was something the community learned about with great concern.
The ECOWAS vehemently denounces the bloodshed as well as any attempts to subvert Guinea-Bissau's legal system and constitution.
ECOWAS further demanded that the incident's perpetrators be apprehended and prosecuted in line with the law.
Additionally, ECOWAS declared its unwavering support for the citizens of that nation as well as Guinea Bissau's constitutional authority.
