Police in Delta murder a possible kidnapper and save a victimOn Wednesday, the Delta State Police Command announced the death of a person they believed to be a kidnapper. Meanwhile, their agents apprehended an armed robber and freed the victim of the kidnapping.

This was disclosed in a statement released by DSP Bright Edafe, a spokesperson for the Delta State Police, who also mentioned that some ammo and cartridges were found together.

According to Edafe, CSP George Omunu quickly organized members of the Divisional Patrol Teams and conducted a thorough search and rescue operation in the Nsukwa Area with the active assistance of members of Delta Command's tactical teams and other security partners.

The suspects were located at various points in the Egbudu-Akah bush. The crew searched the bushes assiduously, but the kidnappers opened fire when they noticed the rescue squad approaching from a distance.

According to Edafe, the police had to answer with a stronger fire because of the intense antagonism, forcing the captors to flee quickly and leave the male victim, who was later saved unharmed, behind.

Following up on intelligence, the operations team returned to the Egbudu-Akah bush at around 1430 hours on the same day, where one of the suspected kidnappers (name unknown) was found suffering from bullet wounds.

According to Edafe, "The suspect was quickly taken to General Hospital Isheagu for medical attention, where he passed away during treatment."

In a another incidence, he continued, the Raiders Squad attacked Boboroku Community, Ethiope West LGA, on November 12, 2022, in an attempt to bring peace and tranquility back to the area after receiving genuine intelligence about cultist activities that were causing a breach of public order.

The suspect ran away when they saw the patrol team approaching, but the policeman pursued after them on instinct because they were allegedly miscreants who had left a bag behind.

One (01) Single Barrel Cut-To-Size Gun was found when the luggage was searched. The exhibit is under custody, and the inquiry has officially started.

Edafe claims that CP. Wale Abass, the Delta Commissioner of Police, has reassured all State citizens that the command is committed to taking decisive action against lawbreakers.

He said that Abass had also promised everyone that the Police Command, which is under his direction, will make it difficult for criminals to enter Delta State.
