The official residence's N10b budget for renovations is refuted by Gbajabiamila.
Femi Gbajabiamila, the chief of staff for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, refuted allegations on Wednesday indicating that N10 billion had been set aside for the refurbishment of his official Abuja home.

In a statement on X, Gbajabiamila said he had noticed social media criticism of the 2024 Appropriations Bill, pointing specifically to the sections pertaining to the President's Office of the Chief of Staff.

He stated, "It has become necessary to clarify that there is no provision in the 2024 Appropriations Bill for the renovation of any residence for the Chief of Staff to the President due to the inaccurate nature of these reports."

"My own home is where I reside. The amounts that internet bloggers and purveyors of false information have deceitfully quoted are for remodeling the Vice President's Lodge in Lagos and the Presidential Quarters in Dodan Barracks.

"It is intended to provide cars for the Presidency's employees and renovate the information management and communications facilities to meet modern standards."

In the statement, Gbajabiamila went on to say that the budget proposal makes clear the amounts suggested for these projects, and that the amounts have nothing to do with the misleading online remarks.

The budget plan is available to the public because the Tinubu administration welcomes and promotes examination of government spending, he continued.

But the Chief of Staff asserts that for there to be a healthy public discussion regarding government policies, everyone must exercise responsibility in what they say and base their arguments on the truth rather than lies and implication.
