On Monday, a petroleum tanker carrying Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) or petrol overturned along Fajuyi road near Ilesa motor park in Ile-Ife.
The tanker, belonging to BOVAS filling station, was en route to Moore Area for unloading when it toppled over.
Fortunately, the driver escaped injury.
The spilled fuel prompted security personnel to cordon off the area.
An eyewitness mentioned that the tanker fell while attempting to cross to a road leading to Moore Area.
The Fire Service was on the scene to prevent people from extracting fuel and assess the situation.
The Zonal Commander advised caution for tanker and truck drivers in the area due to its slope and dangerous bends.
The local government chairman noted that the spilled petrol had rendered the area impassable for road users.
