The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has cautioned against requiring residents to contribute funds for the purchase of electricity transformers and related materials.
Adelabu conveyed this message during a meeting with the management of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBDEC) while on a facility tour in Oyo state.
The minister emphasized the government's commitment to providing for the needs of the people to enhance their quality of life.
Adelabu expressed dissatisfaction with the persisting issues in the metering system, assuring that he would address the problem by eliminating estimated billings in the power sector.
Additionally, he mentioned the ministry's openness to collaborating with the private sector to enhance power distribution services for Nigerians.
