Police are looking into allegations that the inspector's wife sold marijuana within the station.
The Nigerian Police Force has announced that it will look into a claim that a Police Inspector's wife was selling drugs inside a station in Kogi State.

Force spokesperson Olumuyiwa Adejobi announced this.

Adejobi made this statement in response to a comment made by a user of the social media platform X on a Sahara Reporters piece about the subject.

According to the media outlet, the incident took place inside Lokoja, Kogi's A Division police station on Monday at 11:00 am.

It stated that numerous sources indicated that the Inspector's wife was detained while dispensing marijuana out of her husband's ash Volkswagen, which was parked within the station.

However, other police officers questioned the NDLEA agents and a struggle broke out when they attempted to carry her away in the car.

Adejobi responded to the incident by confirming that it is being investigated.

He noted on his X handle, "We are investigating it." This has been forwarded to Kogi for review and a response.

The Force spokeswoman did issue a warning, however, that some media outlets' writings should be thoroughly checked before believing the information they publish.

There are several news sources that you should check before accepting their reporting as gospel. So, we'll investigate and take the required steps.
