Bayelsa: After a three-hour wait, voting begins in Sylva's ward.
After a three-hour delay, voting in the current governorship race in Bayelsa's Okpoama Ward, Brass Local Government Area, has begun.

With 17 polling places, Okpoama Ward Polling Unit-4 is the electoral ward of Chief Timipre Sylva, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate.

The sorting and distribution of electoral materials to the 17 polling places was delayed at first, but at around 11 a.m., the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that accreditation and voting across the ward started.

People are already waiting in line to cast their ballots in a systematic fashion for the governorship candidate of their choice.

Additionally, according to NAN, everything is quiet as INEC officials, party agents, and security people go about their daily business.

Chief Nathan Sobote, a community leader who cast his ballot at polling place 6, Okpo Playground, expressed disappointment over the delay in the delivery of voting materials but applauded the calm environment in the region.
