PDP demands "timely replacement" of election supplies lost in a boat accident in Bayelsa.
In response to a recent boat accident in Koluama, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, Bayelsa State, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on the Independent National election Commission (INEC) to guarantee the prompt replacement and delivery of all election materials lost.

The PDP voiced alarm over the incident in a statement on X on Saturday, claiming that it might deny the residents of Koluama the right to vote in today's governorship election.

"Due to the loss of election materials in the Friday, November 10, 2011 boat mishap, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) should ensure that the people of Koluama in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State are not disenfranchised in the Bayelsa State Governorship election,” the PDP stated.

The party demanded that INEC guarantee the prompt replacement and transfer of all election materials to Koluama in order to "reassure the people" of Koluama and the entire Bayelsa State.

In order to assure its legitimacy, PDP added that it will keep an eye on the elections in Bayelsa State.
