Kano Governor views the Appeal verdict as a miscarriage of justice and heads to the Supreme Court.
Following a thorough examination and extensive engagement with stakeholders, Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) have chosen to challenge the Court of Appeal's recent judgment by approaching the Supreme Court.

Governor Yusuf announced this decision in a special broadcast on Friday night, characterizing the Appeal Court's ruling as a miscarriage of justice. He informed the people of Kano that, in consensus with stakeholders, their legal representatives had been instructed to initiate the appeal process at the Supreme Court, expressing optimism that the Supreme Court would rectify what was perceived as miscarriages of justice by the Tribunal and the Appeal Courts.

Governor Yusuf urged the citizens of Kano to continue their lawful activities, assuring them that the government has taken necessary measures to ensure the security of lives and property in the state. Despite the temporary setback, he affirmed that his administration remains committed to implementing significant projects and programs aimed at restoring the state's former glory. Rather than being deterred, he pledged to introduce additional initiatives to bring the dividends of democracy to the people of Kano.

The governor called on citizens and well-meaning Nigerians to pray for Allah's mercy and protection for Kano, guarding against the perceived injustice of those attempting to seize power through unconventional means and return the state to a regressive state.
