Sales representative docked for allegedly taking N7.8 million from employer

A 32-year-old former sales representative, Bashiru Olatunji, appeared before the Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, facing a charge of theft. 

The defendant, accused of stealing N7,809,000 from his employer, pleaded not guilty to the one-count charge. 

The prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, alleged that Olatunji, while working as a sales representative at Deke Super Store in Ojodu Berger, committed the offense between January and November. 

Investigations revealed a pattern of long-term theft, leading to the defendant's arrest. 

The court granted bail to Olatunji with conditions and scheduled the trial for December 19.
