Fourteen months after the removal of three traditional rulers in Osun State, Governor Ademola Adeleke has announced that the affected stools will remain vacant.
The governor, who had directed security agents to take over the palaces of the monarchs in November 2022, stated that the installation of Aree of Iree and Owa of Igbajo stands nullified, and an all-inclusive selection process for new appointees should commence immediately.
The White Paper also directed waiting for the outcome of the Court of Appeal in the disputed Akirun stool, which remains vacant. Additionally, a task force has been approved to recover vehicles allegedly looted by officials of the previous administration.
